John A. Lewis
HEAD PGA GOLF PROFESSIONAL
John was raised in Idaho Falls, Idaho near Pinecrest Golf Course. He worked on the maintenance crew throughout high school and played golf everyday he possibly could. He learned to play well enough to earn a golf scholarship to Idaho State University where he won player of the year award on his team his sophomore, junior and senior years. After graduating from ISU with a degree in Physical Education John went back home to Pinecrest and worked as assistant golf professional.
John moved to the Treasure Valley in 1987 to work as an assistant golf professional at Plantation Country Club and was hired as the Head Golf Professional at the newly constructed Centennial Golf Course in Nampa that same year. In 1988 he earned his PGA Membership and continued his career with Centennial for the next 34 years. During his time with Centennial his love for playing and for the golf community grew. In April of 2022, John was given the opportunity to join Falcon Crest Golf Club and is excited to join the club during this time of growth and prosperity.
When John started in the PGA, he thought the main goal of a PGA Professional was to teach students to play great golf. Over the years, he has taught many players to play well but now feels the most important goal is to teach the players to love the game of golf.
When John is not working at the club, he enjoys spending time with his wife Jody and their dog (Tom Watson aka Watty,) hanging out with his family, or playing a round of golf with his buddies.
